Passion, Power, Pride

November 21, 2026

Combs Performing Arts Center

Join the People’s Community Symphony Orchestra for an enthralling evening of music that celebrates passion, power, pride, and musical brilliance. This program has something for everyone — from the festive spirit of Brahms' Academic Festival Overture, to the premiere of a new work by Taison Roddy, the heartfelt beauty of Puccini's Crisantemi, and the fiery energy of Bizet's Carmen Suite No. 1 & 2.

2026 Concerto Winner.

Congratulations to Dan Dauber!

Originally from New Jersey, Daniel Dauber is an active performer and educator based in Phoenix, Arizona. With an extensive background in both classical and jazz music, Dan has performed with the New Jersey Wind Symphony, Piedmont Wind Symphony and has appeared as a featured soloist with the Phoenix Symphony. As a chamber musician, Dan is currently a member of the award-winning LOTUS Saxophone Quartet, and of the LoGo Saxophone Trio. He was formerly a member of the award-winning Aenea Reed Quintet, whom notably won first prize at the North American Saxophone Alliance Flex Competition in 2024. Dan is also a staunch advocate for new music and has been involved in premiering and commissioning new works by living composers such as John Mackey, Devanii, Karalyn Schubring, Aron Stornaiulo and Han Hitchen to name a few. As an in-demand session musician, he can be heard playing saxophone in the award-winning film, "Sammy, Without Strings (2022)." In addition, Dan has held instructor positions at the Phoenix Youth Symphony, Gilbert Classical Academy, University of North Carolina Community Music School and West Milford Concert Band Academy.

Dan is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Saxophone Performance under the tutelage of Dr. Christopher Creviston, while serving as a Saxophone Teaching Assistant. He is concurrently appointed as an Artist-in-Residence at Mirabella at ASU, a retirement community on campus. Dan holds a Master of Music in performance and a Certificate in Music Theory Pedagogy from Arizona State University (2024), and a Bachelor of Music in performance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (2022). He studied saxophone with Christopher Creviston and Robert Young, respectively.
